Waldorf Salad

Have 3/4 cup of this great Waldorf salad  and only 200 calories. Easy to make and it will surely be a favorite.

2 small apples, cored and chopped (1 1/3  cups)

2 small pears cored and chopped (1 1/2 cups)

1 small banana

1/2 avocado

1/2 sup chopped celery about 2 medium stalks

1/4 cup raisins

12 walnut halves chopped

1/2 cup plain low-fat yougurt

1 tbs. mayonnaise

1 tsp. lemon juice

Combine all ingredients and mix well. Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours and enjoy.

Carbohydrates   29 grams

Cholesterol         3 milligrams

Sodium               45 milligrams

Broccoli and Cauliflower Salad

This a quick and easy salad.  Sure to be a hit. This recipe is very good and good for you,eat your vegetables.

1 bunch broccoli (just the flowers)
1 head cauliflower
1 medium onion
4 oz. grated cheddar cheese
1 lb fried bacon

Mix with the following dressing:

1 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup sugar
2T. vinegar

Cottage Cheese Delight

Great recipe that dose not have all the calories, get the kids to snack on this instead of cookies.

1 quart cottage cheese

1 can crushed pineapples

1(6oz) box orange gelatin

1 small package miniature marshmallows

1 large container Cool Whip

Mix cottage cheese,pineapples and gelatin powder together. Blend in marshmallows and Cool Whip; chill before serving

ANTIPASTA SALAD

This is everyones favorite. Easy to make, and sure to be a hit at the next party.This is my favorite salad.

1/4 lb. provolone cheese
1/4 lb. hard salami or pepperoni
1 lg. tomatoes
1 lg. green pepper
1 med. onion
1 sm. jar olives, optional
1 lb. box shell or rotini  macaroni, boiled & cooled
1 bottle Zesty Italian dressing
1 pkg. Good Seasons dry Italian dressing

Chop all or the ingredients  into bite size pieces, add cooked macaroni. Add dry dressing and the liquid mix well.  Always taste better the next day.

Fruit Cocktail Salad

Wow! So quick and easy. This fruit salad has all the fruits and takes no time to prepare. Also is good when you have a sweet tooth with out all the calories.

1 jar Kraft plain cheese spread

1 large can of fruit cocktail (drained)

1 large cool whip

mini-marshmallows as many as you desire

1 jar of cheeries

Mix all ingredients except cherries together. Put in 9 x 12 pan and chill. arrange cherries on top for decoration.

Banana Yogurt Salad

This a yummy banana yogurt salad. Low in calories, naturally nutritious and great for dieting.

2 large bananas

2 cups yogurt

1/4 cup nuts (chopped)

orange sections

lettuce

Peel and split bananas place in serving dish. Spoon 1 cup yogurt on each banana. Sprinkle with nuts; surround with orange sections and shredded lettuce.
